The development dates back to 1970, when banker Ignacio Coca formed the Los Monteros Group and constructed the Los Monteros Hotel, which is now the five-star Grande Luxe Los Monteros, Marbella Hotel and Spa, conveniently located near the urbanisation’s entrance. This luxury hotel has been an exclusive destination for decades and continues to attract a celebrity and affluent clientele. It was the first hotel in southern Spain to have a Michelin-starred restaurant and its La Cabane beach club is renowned for its food and the quality of its service and facilities. The original hotel was built at the same time as the first collection of private villas in La Reserva de los Monteros.
