As one of the Leading Hotels of the World, you would expect Marbella’s Puente Romano Hotel to be something really quite special. And it is. Delivering an atmosphere of understated elegance, this hotel has been welcoming guests since the late 1970s.
Puente Romano was originally envisaged by founder, Prince Alfonso Von Hohenlohe, as an upmarket apartment complex built around an authentic first century Roman bridge, but its fantastic beachside location lent itself perfectly to the luxury hotel market. Subsequent owner Mouaffak Al Midani seized upon this opportunity in 1979, when the hotel opened its doors to the first guests.
There are eight restaurants located within the hotel grounds, offering Japanese, Arabic, Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. Alternatively, renowned chef Dani García has a two Michelin star restaurant in the hotel’s Plaza Village, where he serves up an extraordinary hot and cold tasting menu called Once Upon a Time. If that sounds a bit too involved but you still want to experience García’s creative talents, why not try his Bibo tapas brasserie also located on site.
The Puente Romano’s Tennis Club is famous in its own right for hosting tournaments and summer concerts every year. The likes of Montserrat Caballe, Ray Charles, Grace Jones, Blondie, Van Morrison and Simply Red have all entertained the crowds at the club, and there have been many important international tennis tournaments, such as the Nations Seniors Tennis Cup. Carry on the party late into the night at the resident nightclub, Suite and Suite del Mar (depending upon the season), where you might spot some of the celebrities who regularly visit the Costa del Sol.
Certainly one of the most beautiful hotels on the Costa del Sol, the Puente Romano has much to offer even the most discerning clientele, with excursions, golf, shopping, tennis and sheer spa relaxation to be found within the grounds or a short chauffeured ride away.
Private apartments and villas at the Puente Romano Hotel are available for sale or rent. To find out more about these and other properties in Marbella, visit our office inside the Puente Romano Hotel or check out our website.
